Ways to fix iPhone 5 green screen
Solution #1: Restart the device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake up button and drag the slider when it appears to turn off your iPhone 5. Wait one minute and repeat the same procedure to turn on the device – press and hold the Sleep/Wake up button. This is the easiest of the 5 ways to fix iPhone 5 green screen and sometimes solves the problem.
If the device does not respond at all when the green screen appears and you cannot reboot it using the method described above, you should try a forced reboot. To do this, press and hold the Sleep/Wake up button and the Home button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
Solution #2: Connecting the phone to a computer
This solution only requires you to plug in the phone, without trying to fix it or anything else. Just connect the cable to the computer. You have to wait five or ten minutes, sometimes longer, but after a while the Apple logo appears.
Solution #3: Connect the unit to the power supply
Use the original charger and plug it in. Let it sit for a few minutes.
Solution 4: Remove battery
You should also try this solution, as it has helped many people solve this problem. Turn off the phone and remove the screws on the bottom of the phone.
You need to place a suction cup on the screen and separate the screen from the base with the appropriate tool. When you have done this, you will see two screws, remove these as well. Then remove the battery, blow away the dirt and dust, and replace the battery.
If you’ve never done this before or aren’t sure how to do it, ask someone who knows how to do it for you, or skip this step.
Solution #5: DFU mode
If the above solutions have not helped, try the DFU mode. But even this solution does not always solve the problem. Therefore, you may need to repeat this step several times. To do this:
- Connect the device to your computer with a USB cable and turn on iTunes.
- Turn off your iPhone 5
- Press and hold the power button for a few seconds.
- Continue to press and hold the power button and press the home button at the same time.
- Do this for ten seconds.
- After ten seconds, stop pressing the power button and continue pressing the home button.
- You will see an iTunes message indicating that your iPhone 5 has been detected.
The green screen will disappear and your device will work properly.
